Theology 4 Life
Worded somewhat philosophically, we hold that…
·
God, transcendent of space-time, is creator of the universe, and yet indwells it (immanent) and gives it meaning.
·
God is the Eternal Society, best understood by trinitarianism – the codification of biblical data reveals three persons, principally pictured to us as the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit; the Destination, the Way, the Navigator; God, the Lord, the Helper.
·
God created man in his1 own likeness – a societal species enabled to live on a conscious moral plane beyond the rest of Earth’s life, having a cosmic destination.
·
God defined the human relationship of marriage as special man to woman covenants, a definition none can morally & judicially redefine.
·
humanity rebelled, falling into morally flawed spirituality in which we are conceived as not guilty but flawed.
·
because of man’s sin, Earth’s life is depressed until the eschatological harvest.
·
God – put in pictures of time – ‘pre-saw’ & ‘pre-planned’ salvation, not to restore but to raise man above man’s pre-rebellion status – not back to naive goodness, but towards mature goodness.
·
God the Son became Jesus, the permanent temporal mode of the uncreated eternal second person of deity.  Jesus’ incarnation, birth, life, death, & resurrection, were and are to lift us into and develop in us God’s life.
·
this exaltation into God’s life is individually triggered by welcoming Jesus, the one-of-a-kind Son of God, and accomplished by the Spirit of God on the grounds of atonement through Jesus’ death.
·
lifestyle is to be, God helping, based on the new (Yeshuic) covenant, although the old (Sinaitic) covenant contained many global imperatives still globally in force.
·
those identified with Jesus as revealing new covenant authority (transcending human authority) should identify with similar believers over the millennia by baptism/immersion in water identifying with the unity of the Father, Son, & the Holy Spirit, a symbolism also of Jesus’ central motif of death, burial, & resurrection that is shared spiritually by his brothers and sisters.
·
God’s people should, again and again, in this life, meaningfully eat & drink reminders of Jesus’ death for them, growing in their appreciation of the Yeshuic covenant.
·
human history is in relationship to God, with human freewill operating within parameters of God’s central objectives, the next being Jesus’ return to put down rebellion & begin a new cosmic level for human society, putting away all who have wilfully rejected him.
·
the life to come will be fully meaningful & include freedom from many current space-time limitations.
1 The masculine (not male) is the predominant gender about God revealed to us: femininity also comes from him.
