Theology 4 Life
When can I start?
Through the Application page, send us your details for an application handbook. Check if the course is looks good for you.  If we approve your application, we can usually have your first year’s study course in the post within a week.  There’s no “start September” policy.

What are my ‘free’ books?
They’re the African Bible Commentary (Zondervan), & the New Bible Commentary (IVP), for all who start the Y1 course.  If you cancel registration within 8 weeks, you may keep them at a deduction from your refund of 50% or less of their RRP.

Do I do all the modules, or are some electives?
You do all the modules, unless we allow you exemptions for prior educational credits at accredited tertiary level.

How is work marked?
Multichoice assignments aside, our rule for essay assignments is that markers are to be at least a level above the student, and a minimum of BTh level.  Our rule for Doctorate level is to grade by three persons of DTh level.

Could I extend the time for my course?
While we link Year numbers for each course, we can allow extra yearly registration within reason.

Would I need extra textbooks?
Yes, but a friend’s, library or the internet might help.  If bought new, reckon on basic books only costing between £60-100 per year, since in keeping your costs down, we supply study notes for most modules.

Are any special discounts available?
Yes, appreciable discounts are available via local churches which will 1# set up an access library with at least the full minimum range of textbooks, and 2# undertake to actively seek to enlist their members for the course.  They may also invite local churches together.  We are happy to receive requests from such churches and levy no fees to them.

Who accredits this course?
Carolina University of Theology (CUT), which has full membership in the American Association for Higher Education & Accreditation, Washington, DC, is authorised by the Accrediting Commission International, Inc, and recognised by the State of Virginia as a degree granting University & School of Religion.  It has stated its aim to work for an optional further level of accreditation into full recognition by the US Secretary of Education.  Students successfully completing their degree may elect to receive their award at CUT graduations.  (Information supplied by CUT .)
